The vines lie in the Grand Maupertuis section, at the top of Clos Vougeot, over the wall from Grands Echézeaux. Three barrels were made (of which two were new). Colour is very deep and rich, with complex, brooding aromas, recalling black fruits. Palate has magnificent structure, with attack, follow-through and finish all superb. The wine’s personality rises to a climax while being tasted, the aftertaste being exceptionally long and fresh (for drinking 2022-2040+).
