The last four vintages of this wine we have shipped have been snapped up for their deliciousness and value. These Pinots were planted in 1969, in shallow, red soils which are rich in clay and iron-oxides. The vines lie on a mini-plateau, just downhill from First Growth Clos des Montaigu. They are cordon-pruned, to restrict their yields, and in 2016 have given a richly purple wine, with splendid ripe, red fruit aromas. The palate shows remarkable concentration, with harmonious, deliciously fresh, classically Pinot Noir aftertaste (for drinking 2018-2022).
