From the northern slopes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, where the hillside runs towards Vosne- Romanée’s greatest plots, this steeply-sloped vineyard produces outstanding wines. Prior to 2004, the vines were rented out to a share-cropper, who kept half the production in payment. Now the family cultivates the whole plot, and has been able to bring about cultivation improvements. The wine has become one of our favourites in the cellar, and it never disappoints. Colour is beautiful, deep purple-ruby, with exceptionally complex, ripe aromas. This is a great wine, with dense fruitiness, gentle tannins, balancing freshness and lovely length (for drinking 2021-2030+). Production was down by 40%, due to the 27th April frost, which wiped out the family’s Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes (so we cannot offer any of that in 2016).
Prices for these wines will be available in mid/late January 2018 – with volumes down across this Domaine, please let us know where your interests lie as soon as you can, so we may let you know availabilities and details, as soon as we have them.
