Jérôme Billard took up the reins at this estate in 2003, having returned from oenology studies in Dijon via stints at Château Pétrus and Dominus Estate in Napa Valley. He is making great strides in Chinon. “Le Temps des Cerises” (the time of cherries) is a traditional french song, which Jérôme`s grandfather used to sing to him. The name perfectly encapsulates the style of this wine, which is vibrantly fruity, pure and juicy. Mid ruby-purple colour, aromas are lifted and attractive, with notes of cassis and freshly cut herbs. Palate is medium bodied and lively, with good concentration of crunchy red berry fruit, and a supple, fresh finish.
