The vines for La Rosine grow just beyond the southern edge of Côte Rôtie, in the Collines Rhodaniennes. In Stéphane’s hands, you could be forgiven for calling this pure Syrah a “mini” Côte Rôtie. Aged for 12 months in 1-5 year-old oak barrels, colour is opaque ruby-purple, aromas being very pretty and perfumed. Palate is full and taut, with abundant pure cassis flavours that gracefully coat the mouth. Tannins are fine and fresh, the finish being long and bright. Outstanding value (for drinking 2018-2021+).
