This 2017 Saint-Joseph is hitting its stride. Colour is a deep purple with a crimson edge. Aromas are rich and meaty, with smokiness, spiciness and a wonderful, floral freshness. This is a broad, energetic wine with a fine boned frame. The fruit is rich and ripe, with supple textures and harmonious, fine tannins. Long-flavoured on the finish, this is delicious now, and has a good future ahead (for drinking 2020-2025+).
