2020 Le Temps Est Venu, Côtes du Rhône, Domaine Stéphane & Michel Ogier

2020 marks the tenth vintage that Stéphane Ogier has been making this stylish Côtes du Rhône from family owned vineyards in the Rhône’s southern stretches. This wine comes from two parcels: one in Plan de Dieu, which gives more powerful, richer styles; complementing this, freshness and structure is contributed by Syrah grapes grown at higher altitude in the Visan commune. This 2020 is a freshly perfumed wine, displaying all the vigour of youth. Bright ruby in colour, the aromas are attractive and pure, recalling ripe bramble fruits and pleasing hints of garrigue herbs. The palate is full bodied and satisfying, with supple texture and a perfectly balanced, smooth finish (for drinking 2022-2024+).
