La Sabarotte is a deeper more powerful Cornas style, from terraced vines planted in 1947, the wine being aged 80% in new oak barrels. Nose is currently closed and focussed, with notes of cassis and black cherry. Full, ripe and densely-flavoured on the palate, this is linear, complex and creamily-textured, with mineral underlay and a long, concentrated finish. This will reward bottle age (for drinking 2020-2028+).
