An exciting new listing from Domaine du Météore, whose organic vines grow within and around a 200 metre-wide meteorite crater, surrounded by garrigue, high in the Languedoc mountains. This Syrah / Grenache / Cinsault blend comes from the blue and blond schist soils of Faugères, the wine having been made entrirely in stainless steel and fibreglass vats to best allow the wine to reflect its terroir. Colour is deep ruby, aromas being floral with notes of blackcurrants and ripe plums. Palate is full and rounded, with silky freshness lifting rich, concentrated flavours of black fruits, dark chocolate and mandarin. This is a fruity, balanced wine with a lively, fresh finish. A great new discovery!
