  1. 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

Like the last two years, this is a particular success, and we are delighted to list it again. It comes from vines which are more than 50 years old, previously owned by Thibaut’s uncle François Marion, who passed away in 2019. It takes plenty of sunshine, as in 2020, to bring grapes from this vineyard […]

  2. 2018 Vosne-Romanee Aux Communes, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

2018 marked the sixth vintage that Thibaut Marion had owned Vosne-Romanée vines – a rare and precious addition to his cellar. The wine was 100% de-stemmed, and aged in 25% new oak barrels. Colour is pale, ruby-purple, with sweet-smelling Pinot aromas of real charm. Palate is full-bodied, with impressive fruit density, silky texture and freshly […]

  3. 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudriotte, Domaine Marc-Antonin Blain

La Boudriotte usually benefits from several years’ bottle-age to bloom and show its full potential. The vines are in long rows, planted on three soils – white clay at the top, limestone in the middle, with darker clay below. They gave 8 barrels this year, the wine being pale, green-golden in colour, with fine fragrance. […]

  4. 2022 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, Domaine Marc-Antonin Blain

This comes from vines with an average age of 60 years, the oldest being over 100. Just two barrels were made. The wine is green-golden in colour, with aromas which are fresh and complex. Palate is creamy, rich and sumptuous, with vivacious, expressive length of great beauty (for drinking 2025-2035+). Please note, this In Bond […]

  5. 2021 Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru Lavières, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

This was the first wine we ever selected from Seguin-Manuel, back in the 2010 vintage, and that bottle gave many pleasures over a decade, as it aged. Coming partly from the family’s own 50 year-old vineyards, which are organically cultivated, and partly from another plot, this included 25% whole clusters, for fermentation. It aged in […]

  6. 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

Like last year, this is a particular success, and we are delighted to list it again. It comes from vines which are more than 50 years old, previously owned by Thibaut’s uncle, François Marion, who passed away in 2019. It takes plenty of sunshine, as in 2019, to bring grapes from this vineyard to perfect […]

  7. 2021 Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru Lavières, Domaine Seguin-Manuel

This was the first wine we ever selected from Seguin-Manuel, back in the 2010 vintage, and that bottle gave many pleasures over a decade, as it aged. Colour is ruby-purple of medium depth, perfume is open and beguiling. Palate shows bright attack, intense fruitiness with medium body, finishing fresh and long (for drinking 2024-2030+).

  8. 2022 Lagrein, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige

Lagrein produces dark, thick skinned grapes that give wines of intense colour, vital freshness and fine-grained tannins. This 2022 is very deep, purple-ruby colour, aromas being richly perfumed, with notes of black fruits, dark chocolate and liquorice. Palate is medium bodied and alert, with scented middle fruit and fine tannins bringing lift to the finish.

  9. 2022 Kerner, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige

Indigenous to the mountains of the Alto Adige, Kerner is a cross between Schiava and Riesling, being best suited to warm, south-east facing vineyards. Thanks to the wide temperature difference between day and night, the grapes retain their natural, steely acidity whilst developing intense aromas. The result is an exhilarating, unoaked white wine with a […]

  10. 2022 Chardonnay Caliz, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige

This beautiful, unoaked, alpine Chardonnay has a vibrant freshness that enlivens the palate. It is thanks to the high percentage of chalky, dolomite limestone in the soils that this wine was given its name – `Caliz` comes from the Latin word Calx (chalk). Pale lemon-gold colour, aromas recall lemons with hints of white peach. This […]

  11. 2022 Pinot Bianco, Kellerei Kurtatsch, Alto Adige

Pinot Bianco thrives on cool hillside slopes, where its natural richness and roundness is finely lifted by invigorating acidity. This example exudes mountain freshness and purity. The vines grow on gravelly, limestone dolomite, giving the wine a stony minerality on the palate. Pale lemon-green in colour, aromas are airy and delicately floral: fresh pear and […]

  12. 2022 Beaujolais Villages Gamay Noir, Domaine de Vavril

From a plot of 60 year-old vines that surrounds the domaine, here is a vibrant, brightly fruity Beaujolais Villages that is full of charm. Glistening ruby-purple in the glass, aromas are lively and crunchy, with notes of fresh red berries. This is a light bodied mouthful, the finish being clean and refreshing.

  13. 2020 Chianti Colli Senesi, Campriano

Ranuccio Neri`s 2020 Chianti Colli Senesi is at once pure, supple and beautifully refreshing – a great example of vibrant, unoaked Sangiovese. Bright ruby in the glass, aromas are open and fragrant, recalling fresh red cherries and Christmas spices. Palate is medium bodied and generously flavoured, finishing silky and lively.

  14. 2022 Côte de Brouilly Cuvée de l’Héronde, Domaine de Vavril

Located on the steep hillsides above the town of Beaujeu, Domaine Vavril owns just over 10 hectares of vines, predominantly planted with Gamay. Beaujeu born and bred, and eager to bottle his own wines, winemaker Jean-Luc Ducruix arrived at the property in 2005. From vines planted in the `Héronde` sector of the appellation, this excellent […]

  15. 2022 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg

This comes from one plot of 65-70-year-old vines in the commune of Vosne-Romanée. Its harmony and beauty are accounted for by its yield being no more than that of a Grand Cru. As with almost all wines at this Domaine, it was 100% destemmed before fermentation. Colour is ruby-purple of medium depth, aromas recall black […]
