Respect for the land is core to how Francesca Rizzi and Rodolfo Tonnello run their small farm, high in the hills of the Veneto. The couple owns 1.5 hectares of steeply terraced, organically farmed Glera vines, surrounded by woods, from which they make this Rive di Refrontolo Prosecco. The name “Lunatico” derives from Francesca’s vaguely eccentric nature, also reflecting the family’s attention to natural rhythms in their vine tending and wine making, in particular to the phases of the moon. HH&C were pioneers in shipping this extra dry Spumante to the UK in 2008, and we continue to love its pure style. This 2018 is a racy, elegant, fully-sparkling Prosecco style, bursting with green apple, melon and fresh lime flavours. Light in body, texture is creamy and rounded, the finish being bright, crisp and uplifting.
