Château Doisy Daëne has been owned by the Dubourdieu family since 1924. Four generations of Dubourdieus have been at the helm here, with Fabrice and Jean-Jacques continuing to ensure excellence since their father Denis passed away last year. In 2016 this is again one of the vintage’s most outstanding wines. Vineyard plantings are 86% Semillon with 14% Sauvignon blanc, with vine age averaging 40 years. Colour is golden-green of medium depth, the nose being aromatic and very elegant recalling honeyed pineapple, sweet lemon peel and spice. The palate is intense, rich and creamy, with vibrancy, fine acidity and beautiful, refreshing length. This is a perfectly balanced, sweet-yet-energetic Barsac, which will gain in complexities (for drinking 2020-2032+).
