As in previous years, the high quality of this wine results from a judicious blending of grapes from village level and First Growth plots. “We harvested the ‘survivors,’” says Jean-Marc Blain, for frost halved the crop of this 2016. The wine is medium golden in colour, with aromas of floral lemons and almonds. Palate is rich yet restrained – this is not a big, explosive wine, yet one of impressive density, balance and freshness. A lovely wine (for drinking 2018-2022+).
