This wine is an assemblage of equal parts of two First Growths: La Pièce sous le Bois, planted with older vines, and Sous Blagny. “There is often 7 days difference between our grapes reaching ripeness, and those from land lower down the hillsides. Thanks to climate warming, we can harvest ripe grapes each year, while retaining their freshness,” explains Etienne. In colour, this is pale golden, with citrus and white peach aromas. Palate is medium-weight and fleshily-textured, with abundant, fresh fruitiness and silky aftertaste – a lovely wine (for drinking 2018-2024+).
