“We like terroir, we don’t like too much oak. These are elegant mountain wines” So says the winemaker at Kellerei Kurtatsch (or Cantina Cortaccia, in Italian), and we could not agree more. This sophisticated Pinot Grigio is made entirely from fruit grown on the slopes of the mountains surrounding the village of Kurtatsch; indeed, half of the vines sit above 400m. This 2017 vintage has very clean, delicate, floral aromas. The palate shows ripe, intense fruit character, including citrus and white peach, with lovely texture and a lively, fresh finish.
