2019 Chardonnay Gouttes d`O, Château de Bousval

I tasted this immediately after the F & D Clair Puligny Garenne and this withstood the comparison well. There is certainly acidity evident but some very pure, finely etched, quite delicate fruit on the lime and blossom spectrum that is far from painfully tart and has good impact on the palate – and is recognisably Chardonnay. Lots of energy and enthusiasm bounds out the glass. Interesting to compare this with the Danbury Ridge 2018 Chardonnays, which are much richer but arguably more formulaic. This would be great for someone trying to avoid high-alcohol wines. 12%
