Here is a white burgundy of real class that can rub shoulders with the famous wines of the Côte de Beaune with ease. The Guillemot-Michels, Marc and Pierrette, with daughter Sophie, farm their vineyards according to biodynamic principles, and the soils are subsequently teeming with life. It brings a level of energy and intensity to their wine that is astonishing. The 2017 was a lovely vintage for the domaine, with a good balance of sugars and acidity giving wines of harmony and freshness. Colour is a bright green-gold, with fine aromas combining ripe peach, fragrant lemons and white flowers – very pretty. The palate has freshness and elegance with a beguiling, silky texture. The finish is taut, fresh and complex (for drinking 2019-2022+).
