This comes entirely from the Chassagne-Montrachet sector of Bâtard-Montrachet, from vines which lie just across the road from Le Montrachet itself. It is one of the choicest spots for Bâtard-Montrachet, where there are many small pebbles, and less clay than in the Puligny sections, or further down the hillside. This contributes to this wine’s exceptional elegance and finesse. Planted in 1983 by Marc-Antonin`s late grandfather, these vines have now reached full maturity. The wine is green-golden in colour, with richly floral, spicy aromas. “No lees stirring in 2018, I left it quiet,” said Marc-Antonin, who has produced a richly lovely wine, creamily-textured, spectacularly long, very beautiful (for drinking 2020-2030+).
