Jean-Baptiste Clair tells the story: “My father bought this part of the mountain at auction in 1994 – it was thorn-trees, box-bushes, pebbles and scrubland then. But it was a good idea – land was not so expensive as it is today. It was planted in 1996, the first harvest being 1999.” Brilliant green-gold in colour, this has opulent aromas, recalling fresh, tropical fruits. Palate is powerfully built, with splendid fruit density, and a perfumed, vigorous, thrilling after-taste (for drinking 2020-2025+).
