2020 Beaune Blanc En Montagne Saint-Désiré, Domaine Joannès Violot-Guillemard

This vineyard lies high on the hillside, uphill from Beaune Clos des Mouches, with vines growing in limestone-rich, white soils which are perfectly suited to Chardonnay. Partly the vines are 10 years old, partly 40. This is green-golden in colour, with abundant fresh aromas. Palate has perfect poise, with lively fruit, fine structure and harmonious, fresh length. Brilliant value (for drinking 2022-2025+).
