Named for Christian Moreau’s father, this comes from a 0.8 hectare plot, planted in 1933, which lies at the heart of Premier Cru Vaillon. Due to the small yields, in 2016 the whole cuvée was fermented in oak barrels (of which 15% were new), giving the wine richly attractive, spiced citrus aromas, and contributing breadth, density and fullness to the palate. Intensely flavoured and with a suave, seductive texture, the length is impressive (for drinking 2018-2023+).
