This vineyard is situated just south of the village of Chassagne, at the heart of the slope. The Blain’s holdings run from the bottom to the top of the plot, giving an intricate wine of great complexity. Partly the soils are white, with many pebbles; higher up, they are marly, with fossil shells. Colour of this 2016 is pale, green-golden, the nose being beautifully aromatic and fine. Palate is broad, with magnificent fruit concentration, held tightly in place by a line of vibrant minerality. With a mouth-coating, creamy texture, the finish is complete and long-flavoured (for drinking 2019-2026+).
