These grapes come from a single village plot names Les Voillenots, which was planted in 1976. The old vine roots penetrate deep down into fissures in the limestone bed-rock, bringing exhilarating character. Just two barrels were made in 2016, where a normal harvest would be seven. Colour is pale, lemon-gold, with aromas showing fresh, ripe fruits, including apricot. This wine is more restrained than the 2015 at a similar stage, and will certainly age magnificently (for drinking 2018-2024+).
