Les Folatières is the largest First Growth in Puligny, with several sub-sections. This wine comes from one of the most ideally situated, called “en la Richarde,” planted in 1983. It lies on the same contour as the Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet, which is just to its south. In colour, this is green-golden, with complex, richly open fragrances. Palate shows perfect balance between fruit concentration, structure, creamy texture and freshness. The finish is memorably silky with a peacock’s tail of after-tastes which are totally beguiling (for drinking 2018-2025+).
