The vines here average 65 years of age, resulting in a wine that has more density, breadth and power than is often seen in the wines of this stony-soiled, hillside First Growth. Colour is attractive, pale green-golden, with honeyed lemon aromas, very fine, with a hint of smoke. Palate is full, rich, with lovely concentration of pure, spiced citrus fruit. Finish is tense, fresh and satisfyingly long-flavoured (for drinking 2020-2026+).
