Indigenous to the mountains of the Alto Adige, the Kerner grape is a cross between Schiava (Vernatsch) and Riesling, being best suited to warm, south-east facing vineyards. Thanks to the wide temperature difference between day and night, the grapes retain their natural, firm acidity whilst developing intense aromas. The result is a thrilling, exhilerating, unoaked white wine with a scented nose, recalling honeysuckle and white peach. Palate is light, racy and vital, flavours being pure and lifted. This is a characterful wine, which reflects its fresh, mountainous origins, the finish being fine and long.
