From a prime, silex-soiled, 6 hectare plot within the 12 hectare, walled Clos du Mosny, this cuvée is made from the second harvesting sweep of the vineyard -“at harvest-time we have 120 pickers, to ensure that grapes are brought in excactly at the right moment, when there is perfect balance between ripeness and acidity”, says Jean-Philippe Blot. This 2018 is a stunning wine. Colour is pale golden green with multi-layered aromas of fresh pears, almond pastry and honeysuckle. The palate is full, luscious and super-silky, with great tension, lift and finesse. There is tremendous depth of flavour, with a fine, mineral structure – an elegant wine with a great future (for drinking 2020 – 2028+).
