Domaine Marc-Antonin Blain, Chassagne-Montrachet
2016 Burgundy En Primeur
Marc-Antonin’s tiny Domaine goes from strength to strength. After viticultural studies in Beaune, he worked vintages in Australia and New Zealand. He now makes four wines from vineyards previously tended by his late grandfather, Jacques Gagnard. Marc-Antonin’s cellar is colder than that of his parents (Domaine Blain-Gagnard), and his wines often spend three or more extra months in barrel (or assembled in tank), before bottling. When not tending to his vines or in the cellar, Marc-Antonin can often be seen cycling through the Hautes-Côtes. This is a young man with passion, flare and energy who is one of the most talented, highly regarded members of the emerg-ing generation of Burgundy growers. Given the particularly low production of Marc-Antonin’s white wines (thanks to spring frost), we invite you to let us know your wishes as soon as possible.
