2016 Château Magnan La Gaffelière, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château Magnan La Gaffelière is the sister property of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé Clos La Madeleine, enjoying the same attentive approach in the vineyard and cellar. The terroir combines veins of clay with sandier foothill parcels, producing a wine that is delicate, fragrant and generous. In 2016 this is 85% Merlot with 15% Cabernet Franc, colour being mid ruby, aromas being perfumed, combining fresh red cherries and dried rose petals – very pure and alluring. Palate starts gently, opening out silkily in the mouth, having medium body and excellent concentration of flavour. This has a gorgeously refreshing mouthfeel, charming middle and a supple, finely textured finish.
