Pristine Austrian wines from Erwin Tinhof
Erwin Tinhof is the 11th generation of his family to be tending vines and making wine in Eisenstadt-on-Leithaberg, 40km southeast of Vienna, in Austria`s Burgenland. Erwin produces characterful, pure wines, most importantly from indigenous grape varieties: Neuburger, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Blaufränkisch. The region`s Pannonian climate, moderated by Lake Neusiedl, gives warm dry summers and cold, dry winters. This, combined with the unique calcareous soils of the Leithaberg and organic agriculture (certified since 2012), gives optimal conditions to produce complex, mineral wines.
Here we introduce a trio of Erwin’s whites, alongside a delicious rosé and red.
