2019 Château d`Issan, 3ème Cru Classé Margaux

Once again, Emmanuel Cruse and his team at Ch d`Issan have produced a stunning, irresistable wine in 2019. This wine comes solely from the vines within the historic, walled vineyard around the château (dating back to 1644). Cabernet Sauvignon makes up 70% of the blend, with Merlot the balance, with 50% of the wine now ageing in new barrels. Bright-purple-ruby in colour, aromas are gloriously fragrant: violets, roses, cassis. Palate is harmoniously structured and tightly woven, showing plump fruitiness, subtle tannins and exceptional, silky aftertaste (for drinking 2026-2042+).
