Owned by the same family as – and sharing management with – the Grand Cru Classé Château Laroque, this is a modestly-priced Saint-Emilion whose 2020 blend consists of 79% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines average 38 years of age, and have produced a brightly coloured, deep purple wine with rich, red cherry and dried rose petal aromas. This is a charming, lively mouthful, being medium bodied, with a ripe, freshly tannic finish (for drinking 2023-2026+).
