This comes from a limestone- and pebble-rich, white soil, with a north-easterly aspect, uphill from Pommard-Rugiens. It needs extra days to come to ripeness, compared to the classic 1st Growth slopes, but in a warm or hot year is a superb source of balanced, fruit-rich Pommard. This is certainly the case with this 2020, whose colour is medium deep, with great freshness of aroma. Palate shows attractive, dense fruitiness, with salinity and vibrant length (for drinking 2024-2035+).
