These vines grow in three plots, on plateau land above Volnay between the village and the hills. Planted in iron-rich, pebbly red soils they give wines of surprising fruit intensity and finesse – in our eyes, this is a “mini-Volnay”. It was 100% de-stemmed, and has been ageing in 30% new oak barrels. Colour is medium-deep, purple; aromas are rich, vibrant and fresh. Palate shows evidently ripe, deep fruit intensity, with vivacious length (for drinking 2024-2028+).
