This is one of Mercurey’s finest terroirs for red wine, and rightly classified a First Growth. The vineyard was carefully replanted between 1988 and 1999, so the vines are now on average 25 years old. They must have put their roots down deep, for this is superb. 19 barrels were produced, of which 5 are new. The wine is deeply purple-coloured, with clear, fine Pinot Noir aromas. Palate shows lovely, rounded fruit, with charming, creamy texture and elegant, fresh aftertaste (for drinking 2025-2032+).
