These grapes were harvested from two plots where the vines are more than 40 years old. They lie downhill from Chassagne’s road to Santenay, 2/3 coming from La Platière, with the remaining 1/3 being tiny Pinot grapes from Les Lombardes. Grapes were 100% de-stemmed, then natural yeasts transformed the sugars, after 4-5 days of cool, pre-fermentation maceration, into a wine of intense, ruby-purple colour, with open, fresh aromas. Palate is full-bodied and lively, with striking fruit purity and rich length (for drinking 2022-2028+).
