Since its foundation in 1849, Pol Roger has observed the tradition of not releasing a vintage-dated champagne unless the climatic conditions permit the production of grapes of outstanding concentration and ripeness. 2018 was a joyfully uncomplicated growing season. Stable conditions during flowering led to a warm, sunny summer of no extremes. Harvest started on 20th August: the grapes were abundant with sugar, aromatically intense and had beautiful, balanced acidities. Five and a half years on, we are delighted to launch a wine that brings together generosity with tension.
