This is one of Mercurey’s greatest terroirs for red wine, and rightly classified a First Growth. The vineyard was carefully replanted between 1988 and 1999, so the vines are now on average 25 years old. They must have put their roots down deep, for this is superb. Colour is rich purple, aromas are fragrant and generous, palate is round, elegant and harmonious with silky, fine tannins (for drinking 2024-2030+).
