These old vines (planted 1954) are in a perfectly-situated, mid-slope plot. Les Chaignots is one of our favourite 1st Growth Nuits, always giving a wine of powerful structure, and this 2020 is true to type: deeply purple, showing freshly spicy, liquorice notes, on the nose. Palate has good body and fine tannins, with lovely texture and stylish length (for drinking 2026-2038+).
