Scorpo’s Eocene Pinot Noir is a barrel selection from the original, 1997 plantings on the Scorpo Family vineyard in Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula. The combination of the plot`s iron rich, volcanic, Eocene soils and the low yielding MV6 Pinot Noir clone (which originates from the Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy) give a wine of structural strength and subtle power. Pale ruby colour, attractive raspberry and mulberry aromas lead to a full bodied, creamily textured palate. The layers of this wine unfurl in the glass to reveal an intense, complex, minerally fresh wine with a long-lingering, finely tannic finish (for drinking 2022-2025+).
