2021 Mâcon-Chaintré, Domaine Dominique Cornin

Romain Cornin has taken on the reins at this family Domaine, with father Dominique playing an ever-valuable role behind the scenes. The family makes intense, finely textured, vivacious Chardonnay, which is produced following biodynamic principles – all the Domaine`s wines are certified organic. This 2021 Mâcon-Chaintré has everything one wishes for in a beautifully satisfying, ready-to-drink, unoaked white Burgundy. Its quality comes from the age of the vines (some are more than 50 years old), from Romain`s conscientious work in the vineyards, and from his light, sensitive hand in the cellar. Colour is bright lemon gold with taut aromas of nectarine and fresh lemon. On the palate, the fresh character of the 2021 vintage shines through, this being a light bodied, precise mouthful, with tightly woven, lifted fruit flavours. This is an energetic wine, with a crisp, dry finish (for drinking now-2025).
