These old vines (planted 1954) are in a perfectly-situated, mid-slope plot. Les Chaignots is one of our favourite First Growth Nuits, where the vines lie close to the town. They always give wine of powerful structure, and this 2021 is again true to type: purple-ruby of medium depth, with complex aromas, this has richly-textured layers of flavour, with gently rounded tannins (for drinking 2025-2032+).
