This was the first wine we ever selected from Seguin-Manuel, back in the 2010 vintage, and that bottle gave many pleasures over a decade, as it aged. Coming partly from the family’s own 50 year-old vineyards, which are organically cultivated, and partly from another plot, this included 25% whole clusters, for fermentation. It aged in 20% new barrels, and is again one of the best wines, and greatest values, in the cellar. Colour is ruby-purple of medium depth, perfume is open and beguiling. Palate shows bright attack, intense fruitiness with medium body, finishing fresh and long (for drinking 2024-2030+).
