This is the ninth vintage that Thibaut Marion has owned Vosne-Romane´e vines – a rare and precious addition to his cellar. Having experimented with adding a proportion of whole bunches (for vintages 2013-17) he concluded that, for this vineyard, 100% de-stemming gives more freshness, flesh and volume to the wine, so this has been the policy, since 2018. A quarter of the barrels for ageing were new, and extra time in barrel was allowed, for aroma development and softening. A pre-fermentation period at low temperature enabled good colour extraction, which is ruby-purple of medium depth. Aromas show clear, bright fruitiness, palate is widely built and well-sustained from start through to creamy aftertaste, with luscious texture (for drinking 2024-2030+).
