Description

20% of whole bunches were added here for fermentation, bringing freshness to well-ripened fruit, and the wine aged in 25% new barrels, along with others which had held one, two or three previous vintages. Colour ismedium-deep, purple-ruby, aromas are open, clean and fresh. Attack on the palate is impressive, fruitiness is engaging, finish is soft (for drinking 2024-2026+).

We have been following with mounting enthusiasm the wines made by Edouard Confuron and his parents at this Domaine, and were thrilled to make our first shipments in 2021. This is very much a family affair, with 66 different plots of vines being cultivated, across nearly 13 hectares. They have lovely examples from key villages and sites on the Côte de Nuits. Substantial holdings in Vosne-Romanée now allow them to separate out grapes coming from two top sites, La Colombière and Hautes Maizières, to make individual cuvées of these wines.
