Description

These vines lie on gently-sloping land downhill from the village, with 40% whole bunches being retained for fermentation. Five barrels were made, two of which being new. Colour is ruby-purple of medium depth, aromas floral and rich, with a touch of liquorice. Palate shows full fruitiness on the start, with good depth of flavours in mid-tasting, then freshly clean, fine aftertaste (for drinking 2024-2028+).

We have been following with mounting enthusiasm the wines made by Edouard Confuron and his parents at this Domaine, and were thrilled to make our first shipments in 2021. This is very much a family affair, with 66 different plots of vines being cultivated, across nearly 13 hectares. They have lovely examples from key villages and sites on the Côte de Nuits. Substantial holdings in Vosne-Romanée now allow them to separate out grapes coming from two top sites, La Colombière and Hautes Maizières, to make individual cuvées of these wines.
