2022 Auxey-Duresses Rouge Les Hoz, Domaine Agnès Paquet

There are two sectors in this vineyard, half being 60 years old, the other more than 20. Limestone content in the soil gives this red Auxey vitality and delicate perfume. The grapes and stems were in excellent health, so a high proportion (40%) was fermented as whole bunches, for later blending with the other half, which had been de-stemmed – the aim being to ensure supple texture, freshness and spicy aromas. Colour is bright, purple-ruby, aromas are ripe, fresh and open. Palate shows attractive roundness from the start, leading to well-sustained mid-flavours and harmonious aftertaste (for drinking 2024-2030+).
