This is a rarely-seen First Growth Beaune which is wholly owned by Faiveley, who acquired it in 2003. The vine plantings date from 1998, 1994, 1989 and 1980. They call it their Côte Rotie, as it is always one of the first to ripen; it faces due south, with gravelly, pebbly, dry soils which catch maximum sunshine. The colour is ruby of medium depth, aromas are fragrant and open, palate shows elegant fruitiness with good volume, gentle tannins and energetic, spicy aftertaste (for drinking 2026-2032+).
