“Les Eygats always has good natural acidity,” Laurent Courbis told us. “The terraces face east, at 300 metres above sea level, so it’s a cooler site – we regularly harvest 2 weeks later than at Champelrose.” Tasting from barrel, with bottling planned for June 2024, this wine is already striking for its vibrancy and focus. Deep purple colour, there is intense clarity and lift to its black cherry aromas, leading to a full bodied, finely structured palate. Ripeness is balanced beautifully with linear freshness, the finish being long and silky (for drinking 2026-2035+).
