This comes from a 60-year-old, hillside vineyard on the north side of Gevrey-Chambertin, on sloping land below First Growth Les Champeaux. The wine fermented with 30% whole bunches. The grapes needed extra-careful sorting, as they were picked after a rain-shower, but the result is immaculate: colour is deep purple, nose is fine and bursting with fruit. Palate is full-bodied, with fine structure, gentle tannins and complete, elegant aftertaste (for drinking 2025-2030+).
